The Quinceañera is a Hispanic tradition that celebrates the transition from childhood to womanhood. In the Spanish culture it is just as important as a wedding. Families spend almost as much time and money preparing for this special occasion.

Resembling the bridesmaids and groomsmen at a wedding, the Quinceanera will have damas and chambelanes who will do a choreograph dance with the Quinceanera and her chambelan.

Although some Quinceañeras wear a white ball gown, most are now opting for more colorful gowns. Finding the Perfect Wedding Dress for YOU!

OK. So here’s something you probably already know, we are not all the same and we can’t all look great on the bridal gowns seen in the many wedding magazines. Many of us fall in love with one of these beautiful gowns that a  gorgeous size 0 model is wearing.  Well I had a friend that did just that, she wanted the dress so bad she almost bought it off the Internet at a bargain (a $5000 bargain) and someone discouraged her from buying it until she tried it. Well she called around and found a bridal shop with the gown she loved, she tried it on and found that not only did it not look good, but it look terrible on her body type.  So here are some tips so that this doesn’t happen to you.

1.       If you don’t know what you want, try on all the different styles to see what best fits your body type and go from there.

2.       If you know what you want, still try on all the different styles, you’d be surprise to find that you might look amazing in something you didn’t think you liked.

3.       Take the material into consideration. If you are a plus size bride pick a material that is flattering to your body and will cover the areas you want covered.

4.       If you find a deal on a designer dress online, be sure to know that the style fits your body type so that you are not disappointed when you receive the dress.

5.       And finally, don’t buy a dress just because it was a great deal, be sure you love it or it will make you doubt your decision even after the wedding.

Forget the Wedding Cake!!!

Are you one of those non-traditional brides who doesn’t  want to have the traditional wedding cake with the cute cake topper that looks nothing like you? Well, I know some people in your family might have an issue with this idea, but who’s wedding is it anyway?? I mean, having a wedding cake you both like might be great but some of your guest might not like the red velvet you decided to choose. Although I am a firm believer that the couple should be happy first and the guests come second, I think that having options is a great idea. Again! Some people might frown upon this because it’s not traditional, but it’s different and very fun. Why not have a desert table at your wedding? The only down side to this is that you might spend a bit more money than if you got just one cake. Another option is also having a small cake you can take the “cutting the cake” pictures with. But think of all the options you can offer and how unique it would be to have different desserts everyone can enjoy. I think it’s a great idea and although I still haven’t been to a wedding that has the dessert table, I think I would just love to taste a little bit of everything.
